I lived on the fourth floor of an apartment building in Mira-Sintra, with a view toward the Pena Palace and the hills around it.

The view was not completely unobstructed. Wires crossed the scene, and a utility pole occupied part of the foreground. But that never made it less beautiful. In the late afternoons, especially, the wires became part of the frame while the sun went down behind the hills.
